You can walk on your own with a map or perhaps join a group on an organised walking tour. There are a wide choice of walking tour operators to choose from. Tours can be pre-booked or just turn-up-and-go that leave from the same place at a fixed time every week. There are dozens of special-interest walks from Charles Dickens and Jack the Ripper to Bishops and Poets. Take a walk through London’s Theatre land and visit the Old Vic, south of the river, the Young Vic and the National Theatre meandering through Georgian backstreets before crossing the bridge to Covent Garden and the West End. Or discover London’s parks by following the Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Walk. This is a circular walk that takes you on a 7 mile route through St James’s Park, Green Park, Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens.
