Your Arrival
Because you are staying at a private home and not a hotel, we ask that you telephone your host at least a week before your arrival date in order to confirm what time you expect to be at the house. This is important despite the fact that you will already have informed The Bulldog Club of your estimated arrival time on your booking form.
You will be greeted in person by your host, escorted to your room, and be given your own set of keys to enable you to come and go freely.
Arriving at your room: As you are staying at a private home, your host is likely to have engagements during the day, and will not normally expect to greet you before 4pm. Special arrangements for early arrival can be made in advance if you are arriving in the UK in the wee hours on a long haul flight for example. Most properties charge an early arrival fee of £20 for this facility, and you will be informed whether this is the case on booking. If you are unable to gain early access to your room, (which can depend on whether previous guests have departed) it is likely that you will be able to at least leave luggage and have a cup of tea, before coming back and gaining access to your room later in the day.
If your arrival time is delayed for any reason on the day, it is important - not to mention considerate! - that you inform your host so that they can re-arrange plans accordingly and will still be able to greet you on arrival.
Leaving your room: Guests are normally expected to leave their room by 11.00am on the day of departure.
